What are the odds?

Only the foolish or desperate wager
when the game is rigged, or
the odds are against them.

Life is mystery

Religious mystery arises from hidden truth
revealed by the divine. The revelation
fuels spiritual wonder.

Scientific mystery arises from a lack of
human understanding. The absence
fuels inquiring minds.

There is little difference in the admiration,
amazement or awe involved, but only
one fires a desperate thirst for knowledge.

Human nature

Only a fool expects anybody to act
contrary to basic human nature,
or self-interest.

Cra-cra

Both crazy and stupid defy containment.
Back either into a corner, and
they rebound with a vengeance.

Doubting Thomas? Do me a favour!

Questioning evidence begins with an open mind.
Blind faith begins with closed eyes.

John 20:29 - "Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed."

Truth or Consequence

A confident assertion is no guarantee of truth.

The wisest doubt the most.

Dancing with dead butterflies

Creating possibilities
is like dancing with butterflies.

Making calculated decisions
is like waltzing through a minefield.

Both involve fancy footwork,
but there, the similarity ends.

A Test of Wisdom

The wisdom of experience
doesn't compete blindly
with the enthusiasm of the novice.
